MERSEYSTEM ROBOTICS CHALLENGE
Tuesday 11th March saw University Academy host the Liverpool heat of the MerseyStem Robotics Challenge.
YEAR 9 CHARITY FUNDRAISING EVENT
A coffee morning was held on Dec 5th by our Year 9 students to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Team at Alder Hey Hospital.
WORLD BOOK DAY
To celebrate World Book Day, a party was held in the library. Students had to design a poster which encouraged others to read in order to make it on to the party guest list.
COMPUTER SCIENCE CLUB
The Computer Science Club runs at lunchtime and after school every Monday and includes:
- Game development
- Basic programming skills
- Web design
20 STORIES HIGH
On Friday 31st January more than 20 UAL students completed a 6 week project facilitated by 20 Stories High with an amazing sharing event attended by family, friends and staff.
GCSE EXPRESSIVE ARTS
On Monday 20th January Year 11 GCSE Expressive Arts Students were treated to a puppetry workshop with professional puppeteer Zoe Hunter.

INTRODUCING "GENERATION CITIZEN"

WORK EXPERIENCE PROFILES
Since September, 38 Year 12 pupils have been taking part in one day a week work experience. Pupils have been placed in businesses all around the city.

YEAR 9 BOYS' BASKETBALL LEAGUE CHAMPS 2014!!!
CONGRATULATIONS to the year 9 basketball team for winning the Liverpool Basketball League. They completed the season with a 100% record, enjoying impressive wins over St Margaret's, SFX, Calderstones, and ASFA.
YEAR 7 BOYS' INDOOR ATHLETICS CHAMPS 2014!!!
CONGRATULATIONS to the year 7 boys' athletics team for winning the Liverpool Indoor Athletics Championships at Wavertree Athletics Centre. It was outstanding performance from the team, winning 13 out of the 18 events.

YEAR 11 SUPPORT DOCUMENTS
SIXTH FORM - WORK EXPERIENCE
Some 30 students have started their work experience. This invoves a one day a week placement at a local firm or business.
SIXTH FORM - REALISING OPPORTUNITIES
Several year 12 students have applied to take part in the realising opportunities scheme with Liverpool University.
YEAR 13 UCAS APPLICATIONS
15 Year 13 students are currently applying to university. Students have taken part in two UCAS preparation days.
